Building Green
Sustainable design and construction is here to stay. In every region of our world, the green building market has increased exponentially in just a few short years.
Whether the “push” comes from environmental regulations, social responsibility and commitment, or the advantages to a green building on the balance sheets, virtually every industry around the globe is participating in the green revolution. We are committed to leading that effort.
Ahead of the Green Curve
At Haselden, we’re ahead of the curve, with a firm commitment to environmental stewardship and vast experience in sustainable construction and LEED® certified buildings.
- Haselden recently completed the Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Research Support Facility (RSF) in Golden. The LEED Platinum, net zero energy office space houses over 800 NREL and DOE employees. The RSF has become the prototype for future large-scale energy efficient U.S. office buildings. Haselden is currently constructing the Research Support Facility Expansion as well as the campus' new parking garage and the designed for LEED Platinum, Net-Zero energy South Entrance Building
- The first LEED building for the City and County of Denver - The Mile High Station and Post Office - reduced water usage and energy bills by over 30%. This LEED Silver building also provides employees with a pleasant yet functional environment that includes more ventilation and task lighting.
- Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colorado was the first LEED Silver High School in the State of Colorado and one of the first in the nation. Day lighting, working in concert with the optimized building envelope, the use of thermal ice storage and high efficiency mechanical equipment results in significant energy savings. Fossil Ridge has garnered awards from the Colorado Renewable Energy Society and American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers.
