Haselden completed phased renovations of seven buildings at Centennial Correctional Facility, including life-safety and mechanical upgrades, concurrent phased renovations of eleven buildings, and one new cell house at Fremont Correctional Facility. Haselden renovated nearly 200,000 square feet over a three-year period in four prisons for the DOC. The project was phased to accommodate personnel and inmates since each facility was fully occupied during all phases of construction.

Low Impact
The Haselden team was sensitive to stringent requirements of the facility and worked closely with the DOC to ensure phased construction at the facilities did not interrupt prison operations. This project was a success because of the team’s ability to build consensus with the Owner and designers; solve problems in the field; safely work within the confines of a prison; and strategize to mitigate schedule impacts and cost overruns.
