"The Haselden team went above and beyond expectations for the project needs."
Chris McKenney, Fitzgeralds Casino
Haselden completed construction on a two-phase expansion of Fitzgeralds Casino in Black Hawk, Colorado. Located in downtown Black Hawk, the project called for the historic restoration of two structures: the Masonic Building and the Rohling Inn. Both structures were originally constructed in the 1860’s. Interior and exterior materials from the original buildings were salvaged and reused when possible.
The first phase included preservation of the historic Rohling Inn. Haselden shored up the two-story wood and brick frame structure for occupancy and restored the external facade to its original beauty. Careful measures were taken to ensure that the damaged portions of the masonry facade were reset and reconstructed using methods identical to the original construction. Renovations included administrative offices/meeting spaces on the first floor, plus a restaurant and banquet rooms on the second floor, totaling 10,000 square feet.
The second phase included construction of a two-story addition on a vacant lot adjacent to the existing Fitzgeralds Casino property. The Haselden team also incorporated portions of the remaining iron exterior front facade of the old Post Office Building. Now, Fitzgeralds Casino connects seamlessly to the existing historic structures and provides a glimpse of this former mining town in the 1800’s.
