Integrated Project Delivery
A model from the auto manufacturing industry, IPD seeks to solve inefficiencies in the construction process and provide the highest quality product for the Owner.
Process
Haselden is an industry-leader in the creation and implementation of IPD. IPD is a project delivery approach that integrates people, systems, business structures and practices into a process that collaboratively harnesses the talents and insights of all participants to optimize project results, increase value to the owner, reduce waste and maximize efficiency through all phases of design, fabrication and construction. Integration with unified goals and objectives is the corner stone for this delivery method.
Benefits of IPD
- Mutual respect and trust
- Mutual risk and reward
- Collaborative innovation and decision making
- Early involvement of all key participants
- Open and enhanced communication
Implementation
For a complex office building project, Haselden provided preconstruction and design, during the conceptual phase, which was accelerated in comparison to normal delivery methods. The IPD process elevated the roles and responsibilities for the team. In 16 weeks the superstructure, skin, roof, mechanical, electrical, and interior finishes were designed and estimated.
