Leadership

Leadership is generational at Haselden. Since 1973, we have built a framework to develop compassionate leaders and industry champions. Helmed by President and CEO Byron Haselden, our leadership team brings over 100 years of collective construction experience to guide our company.

Byron Haselden

President & Chief Executive Officer

Haselden’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Byron Haselden also serves as a member of the Board of Directors. He assesses the Company’s strategic direction and monitors the performance in its core competencies while also managing key current and potential owner relationships. Byron is continuously exploring new ways to improve and enhance the services Haselden offers to its customers.

The two-plus decades of construction management experience he brings to his leadership role provide a unique perspective and depth of experience that enable him to relate to clients and team members alike. Byron began as a laborer and has held positions in virtually every aspect of construction management, including the role of Vice President of Preconstruction.

David Lueders

Executive Vice President & Chief Risk Officer

David leads Haselden’s Corporate Services Center of Excellence, which creates business efficiencies across all departments that benefit our clients. He works closely with our President/Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer to give direction and oversight in the areas of finance, accounting, information technology, and safety. David addresses enterprise-wide areas of business risk associated with the Haselden’s interests including financial, operational, strategic, and contractual. He also plays a vital role in Haselden’s Real Estate Development endeavors.

Chief Financial Officer

Troy focuses on the financial health of Haselden Construction. His four major functions as CFO are financial oversight, management of external financial partners, provision of executive presence within the business community, and cultivation of internal strategic partnerships with all of Haselden’s Centers of Excellence and Operations. Troy is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado and is member of the Colorado Society of CPAs, the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, and the Construction Financial Managers Association.

JJ Rams

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, JJ oversees Business Development, Preconstruction, Operations, and Human Resources. He works to create alignment across the departments to enhance our customer’s experience and ensure smooth transitions between each phase of a project. In his nearly 30 year career, J.J. has managed major public and private projects totaling more than $1 billion in value, including extensive mountain resort and municipal construction work.

Jarrod Fugate

Jarrod Fugate

Senior Vice President

Jarrod is responsible for the overall management, procurement and operations of the On-Call Division as well as Haselden’s Self-Perform Division. For On-Call and Self-Perform projects, he ensures that all Haselden systems, procedures and policies are properly implemented in accordance with the requirements of the project. Jarrod oversees and helps coordinate the activities and goals of the owner and architect to complete the project in accordance with owner objectives.

Derek Oliver

HRS President

Derek is part of the Business Operations Group, helping to make strategic decisions for Haselden Construction and working on the roll-out of HCBI (Haselden Commercial Building Institute). As the president of HRS, Derek is instrumental in launching this new company and creating its identity in Colorado, as well as overseeing all aspects of the business. Over the past 13 years, Derek has managed Preconstruction and Construction activities in the higher education market and various other markets across Wyoming.

Amanda Sparks

Director of Human Resources

Amanda has been working in human resources since 2010 after graduating with her master’s degree in Organizational Development. She was introduced to the construction industry in 2013 and worked for a large national contractor before coming to Haselden. Amanda is passionate about finding the right people to join the Haselden team! She leads our overall Human Resources strategy and drives the company culture.

Christian Ekstrom

Christian Ekstrom

Vice President of Preconstruction

Christian leads our Preconstruction Department which consists of preconstruction managers, senior estimators, and project estimators. Christian has been with Haselden for over 21 years and was Haselden’s first intern back in 1995! He is a graduate of the Construction Management program at Colorado State University. Christian has been the lead estimator for billions of dollars in construction in myriad market sectors, such as hospitality, education, and healthcare.

CJ Harvey

CJ Harvey

Vice President of Operations

CJ Harvey is a graduate of CSU’s Construction Management program and earned an MBA in Corporate Change Management from the University of Colorado at Denver. CJ has been with Haselden Construction for over 15 years and is Vice President of Operations. During his tenure, he has earned an outstanding reputation for dependability and quality. He has extensive experience in large, complex construction projects, and his commitment to innovation and creative solutions makes him a perfect leader for Haselden's Operations department.

Vice President of Business Development

As Vice President of Business Development, Eric utilizes his extensive knowledge and construction experience to provide oversight and leadership to the Business Development and Marketing team. Eric has a Superintendent’s background and over $900 million in construction experience. He uses his years of expertise in the field to work with clients and stakeholders, ensuring careful thought is given to the long-term goals of each Haselden customer.

Robyn Averbach

Robyn Averbach

General Counsel

As General Counsel, Robyn supports Haselden Construction’s Vision to be a Great Builder by providing legal counsel and strategic guidance on a wide range of legal, business, and governance issues capitalizing on over twenty years of wide range legal experience in the construction industry and a creative and collaborative approach to problem solving.  Robyn oversees Haselden’s legal, compliance, and risk management functions by proactively identifying and mitigating risk throughout the organization associated with Haselden’s operational, strategic, and contractual endeavors.  In addition to her legal experience, Robyn is a Colorado certified mediator, having participated in and conducted hundreds of mediations throughout her legal career and brings a unique set of legal skills to Haselden and its clients.
