This new K-8 school in Parker is the second campus for American Academy, a public charter school system whose flagship campus in Castle Pines North was also constructed by Haselden. The building design includes three stories and 41 classrooms—4 of which are science labs—and a rubber floor gymnasium. Approximately 800 students attend classes on this ten acre site.
Exterior features of the school consist of a low maintenance, buttery-yellow lap siding, dark red corrugated steel siding, and sage green cement board, in addition to a course of brick work along the base of the building.
Interior features include daylighting for all classrooms, full displacement ventilation system, and collaborative spaces for students. The inside is also colorful, utilizing paint and doors and light fixtures to add to the colorful character of the building.
