The Cherrelyn Elementary replacement project consisted of demolition of the existing facility and building a new and improved elementary school.

Additional upgrades and features of the new facility include parent and bus drop-off lanes, parking lot, new age-appropriate playgrounds, community garden, improved night-time use, and secure entry.

The new school also consists of a centralized and identifiable main entry and office space, dedicated gymnasium, dedicated cafeteria, larger classrooms, flexible learning commons designed to support 21st Century Learning, varied learning spaces, break-out spaces for small group learning, and high-quality day-lit classrooms designed to improve student performance.
